How do you calculate profit and loss on a forex trade?

BUY: (exit − entry) × units. SELL: (entry − exit) × units. Result is in the quote currency; convert if the account differs.

What is a pip and how does it affect profit calculation?

A pip is 0.0001 on most pairs, 0.01 on JPY. Pips × lot size = money. A standard EUR/USD lot is about $10 per pip.

How does lot size affect trading profit?

Size scales P&L linearly. Standard 100k, mini 10k, micro 1k units. Double the lot, double the win and the loss for the same pip move.

Does account currency affect profit calculation?

Yes. P&L starts in the quote currency, then converts. EUR/USD on a USD account needs no convert; GBP/JPY on USD uses USD/JPY.

How do I calculate profit on a crypto trade?

(Exit − entry) × coins for a long, reverse for a short. No pips — just price difference times size.

What is the difference between realized and unrealized P&L?

Unrealized moves with the mark on open trades. Realized locks when you close. This calculator shows the close-out number.

How do swap fees affect overnight trading profit?

Swap is charged or paid when you hold past rollover, from the rate gap. Over days it can eat a large slice of net profit.

How do I calculate profit as a percentage of my account?

P&L ÷ balance × 100. $200 on $10,000 is 2%. Percentages let you compare across account sizes.
